TSS Machine Description
The saw features two counter rotating saws mounted above/below one another. The bottom saw is designed for pre-scoring parts prior to cut off to prevent tear out.
Standard Operation
TSS bottom spindle is designed to accept a 150 mm diameter scoring blade and is powered by a 1-1/2 HP motor. Spindle speed is 4700 RPM. The top spindle is designed for a 300 mm diameter saw blade and is powered by a 3 HP motor. Spindle speed is also 4700 RPM. Saw blade movement is horizontal and utilizes linear bearings and powered by a pneumatic cylinder with adjustable flow controls.
For safety, horizontally mounted pneumatic work clamps are installed on each side of the cut-off saw and are equipped with a proximity switch to release only after full saw blade retraction.
What the TSS Does
The TSS is typically used to perform the following operations:
- Trimming
- Scoring
- Cutting
TSS PLC
The machine uses a PLC control for simple and easy to use controls. PLC is an acronym for Programmable Logic Controller: an industrial microprocessor-based controller with programmable memory used to store program instructions and various functions.
