HMJ Machine Description
A CNC machining center, used for producing high quality haunch joints, which are used in many furniture and cabinet applications. The haunch head miters the profile for beaded face frame applications on both stiles and rails.
Standard Operation
Parts can be stacked or cut one at a time with no backer. One tool cuts up from the bottom and the other matches the cut from the top. Frames that are symmetrical can be cut in pairs.
What the HMJ Does

The HMJ is typically used to perform the following operations:
1. Mitering joint heads for beaded face frames on both stiles and rails.

Touchscreen Interface
A 15″ Industrial Color Touchscreen is used to write and store programs.
The 15″ touch screen monitor makes viewing the specific parameters of a program easy.

Note: Image may not necessarily depict final Operator Interface and is only used as an example of an Operator Interface Screen.
OPERATOR INTERFACE SCREEN
The on screen graphics of the Operator Interface have been designed to allow for quick programming at the machine.
A library of rails is created to be used as a reference tool and is used to build styles.
* Cabinet Vision post available.

HMJ MAINTENANCE SCREEN
A Maintenance Screen gives you the ability to manage inputs, outputs and machine offsets.
From this screen you can manually trigger all outputs as well as visually see if the machine is seeing the inputs correctly. You also set the machine parameters that are not as communally used such as fence and spindle offsets from this screen.
Because this screen is password protected you can be selective with who you grant access to it.

Manufactured in Salt Lake City, Utah
Pillar machines are designed, machined, assembled, wired, programmed, and tested at our Salt Lake City facility using U.S. and imported components.
The benefits of buying directly from a U.S. manufacturer include:
- Purchased components are sourced through U.S.-based suppliers.
- Strong parts availability and dependable support.
- Direct factory support from the people who know the machines best.
- When technical assistance is required, you can often speak directly with the people who built, wired, programmed, and tested your machine.
Options for the HMJ

Pillar Additional Guarding
Pillar Machines come with open backs and are meant to be set up against a wall. If planning on putting the machine in a location where the back would be exposed, we recommend additional guarding.
Guarding consists of doors on the back of the machine with an interlock that prevents the machine from operating when the doors are open.

Pillar Automatic Oiler
Automatic Oiler option adds a compressed air automatic oiler to the frequently used bearings on the machine. The oiler uses oiled compressed air to deliver lubrication to the linear bearings. Because of the nature of this option, the bearings operate under positive pressure making them less susceptible to dust contamination.
Notes:
- The oil injection amount can be adjusted using an adjustment knob on a pneumatic oiler at the machine.
- The oiler will operate anytime the spindle is spinning.
- The bearings that are oiled are:
a. 4 each X-axis linear bearings
b. 4 each under Drill spindle linear bearings
c. 4 each under Groove spindle linear bearings - Photo may not represent the exact oiling device to be used in this option.
- Selecting this option may increase your machines lead time.

Pillar Fixed Mounted Barcode Reader
Fixed mounted Barcode Reader option allows the operator to scan barcodes at the machine as a means of opening a part file. This will open a file that has the exact name in the program folder.
Notes:
1. Barcode reader only opens files that are meant to be read and used on this specific type of machine.
2. Option includes one standalone fixed mounted barcode reader and all required software to use it.
3. Photo may not represent the exact barcode reader to be used in this option.
4. Selecting this option may increase your machines lead time.
