MG2
CNC Miter Glue Application System

MG2 Advantages:
- Apply consistent glue on every part, without relying on operator judgment
- Cut down on assembly failures caused by too much or too little glue
- Fit into tight production spaces with a compact footprint
- Keep production moving by loading one zone while the machine works the other
Category: CNC Miter Glue Machines
The MG2 is a dual-zone CNC miter glue application system built to take glue placement out of the operator’s hands. Manual glue application on mitered mortise and tenon parts depends entirely on operator consistency. Too little glue weakens the joint. Too much creates hydraulic pressure that can keep the miter from closing or damage the substrate. The MG2 solves both problems with precise, repeatable placement on every part.

MG2 Machine Description
The MG2 is a dual-zone CNC miter glue application system that automates glue placement on mitered cabinet door parts before assembly.
Shops traditionally apply glue on mitered mortise and tenon parts by hand, which puts the result entirely in the operator’s hands. Too little glue weakens the joint. Too much glue builds pressure inside the mortise and tenon joint, and that pressure can keep the miter from closing or damage the material underneath. To fix this, the MG2 places precise, repeatable glue amounts on every part.
A true 2-axis CNC-controlled glue head drives the process, with an added pneumatic lift axis that raises the nozzle between glue paths so it doesn’t smear. Two independent work zones let the operator load one zone while the machine works the other. This creates a continuous back-and-forth workflow that keeps production moving and cuts down on idle time.
Programming takes seconds. First, the operator sets the glue pattern for one part and enters the material thickness. Then the MG2 repeats that pattern across all four door parts with even spacing every time.
Standard features include a compact footprint, a built-in glue delivery system, an automatic nozzle park station with water tray, a 15-inch touchscreen, and non-stick work surfaces built for fast cleanup and daily production use.
Shops that build mitered cabinet doors with blind mortise and tenon joints are a good fit for the MG2, including those running Pillar Machine MMTJ, M45, and MMTX systems, plus similar equipment from other manufacturers.
What the MG2 Does

The MG2 is typically used to perform the following operations:
The MG2 handles one core operation: miter door gluing.

Touchscreen Interface
A 15-inch industrial color touchscreen lets the operator write and store programs. Its large display makes it easy to check a program’s settings at a glance.

(Note: Image may not depict the final operator interface. It’s an example only.)
OPERATOR INTERFACE SCREEN
The on-screen graphics of the operator interface have been designed to allow for quick and intuitive programming directly at the machine. Typically, programs can be created, modified, and recalled in less than one minute.
Standard Features in the software include:
1. Graphic interface displaying glue placement locations and glue path patterns.
2. Repeat function that processes all four cabinet door parts automatically
3. Adjustable glue path positioning and spacing.
4. Password protection on select features
5. Program save and recall.
6. Online diagnostics, if the machine has an internet connection.
7. Manual controls for glue system service and maintenance.
8. Independent control of Zone 1 and Zone 2 operation.
9. A maintenance and diagnostic interface.
10. Adjustable speed for glue application and transition movements.

(Note: Image may not depict the final operator interface. It’s an example only.)
MG2 MAINTENANCE SCREEN
The Maintenance Screen lets you manage inputs, outputs, and machine offsets. From here, the operator can trigger machine outputs manually for troubleshooting, and check input status at the same time to confirm the machine is running correctly.
Standard features within the Maintenance Screen include:
– Manual activation of pneumatic outputs and machine functions.
– Visual monitoring of machine input status.
– Glue application offset adjustments.
– Axis calibration and positioning controls.
– Machine homing controls.
– Glue system service and maintenance functions.
– Diagnostic and troubleshooting interface.
– Password protected machine configuration settings.
Since this screen requires a password, you decide who gets access to it.

Options for the MG2

Pillar Machine Fixed Mounted Barcode Reader
The fixed-mounted barcode reader option lets the operator scan a barcode at the machine to open a part file. It pulls up the file with the matching name from the program folder.
Notes:
1. The barcode reader only opens files meant for this specific machine type.
2. One standalone reader and the software to run it come included.
3. Note that the photo may not represent the exact reader used in this option.
4. Choosing it may extend your machine’s lead time.
